The official trailer has dropped for the second season of ‘Ted’, Seth MacFarlane’s live-action comedy prequel to the hit films, giving fans a proper look at what chaos the foul-mouthed teddy bear is getting up to next when the show returns to Sky and NOW later this March.
Set in the 1990s, ‘Ted’ picks up with Ted the bear, voiced by Seth MacFarlane, long past his brief moment of fame and back living in Framingham, Massachusetts. He shares a home with his best friend, 17-year-old John Bennett, and John’s deeply dysfunctional family. Ted may be a terrible influence, but he remains fiercely loyal, especially when it comes to his friendship with John.
The second season once again stars Max Burkholder (Parenthood) as John, alongside Alanna Ubach (Euphoria), Scott Grimes (The Orville), and Giorgia Whigham (The Punisher). Judging by the trailer, the new run leans hard into the show’s mix of crude humour, family dysfunction, and surprisingly sincere moments, with Ted continuing to push everyone’s buttons while somehow holding the household together.
MacFarlane, who serves as executive producer, writer, director, and co-showrunner, shared a joint note with fellow co-showrunners Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh, saying:
“We’ve made a second season of our show Ted which we are excited to share with you. The episodes represent the hard work of our fellow writers, gifted actors, and talented crew, including the visual effects team who bring the character of Ted so convincingly to life.
We hope you enjoy these eight somewhat filthy, hopefully funny heartfelt episodes about a young man, his talking teddy bear, and their highly dysfunctional family. On the off-chance the series is not your cup of tea, a great way to get us back is to leave all the episodes playing to completion on multiple devices throughout the house. That’ll show us.
Warmly,
Seth, Paul and Brad”
Behind the scenes, ‘Ted’ Season 2 is produced by UCP, Fuzzy Door, and MRC, with NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution handling international sales. The series was acquired for Sky by Katie Keenan and Lucy Criddle, continuing Sky’s run of landing high-profile US comedy series for UK audiences.
‘Ted’ Season 2 premieres Thursday, 6th March 2026, on Sky and streaming service NOW.
