‘The Blame’ Teaser Trailer Sees Michelle Keegan & Douglas Booth Lead ITV’s Gripping New Murder Mystery

by Dave Elliott

ITV has released the first look teaser trailer for The Blame, a new autumn drama starring Michelle Keegan (Fool Me Once, Brassic) and Douglas Booth (The Sandman, The Dirt), from Quay Street Productions.

Set in the seemingly quiet fictional town of Wakestead, ‘The Blame’ follows DI Emma Crane and DI Tom Radley as they investigate a tragic murder. The case appears to point them towards a clear main suspect, but as the investigation develops, an unexpected lead sends them deeper into a tangled web of lies, institutional cover-ups and moral compromise. For Emma, that also means questioning the people closest to her.

Part propulsive mystery, part social commentary, and part love story, the series looks set to dig into some thorny questions around policing, corruption, trust, and what really sits beneath the surface of a community that would very much like to appear respectable. Which, as we all know, is usually where the bodies are buried…

Alongside Keegan and Booth, the cast includes Ian Hart as DCI Kenneth Walker, Nathan Mensah as DC Lewis, Nigel Boyle (Line of Duty, Peaky Blinders) as digital forensic technician Brett Shergill, Joe Armstrong (Gentleman Jack, Black Mirror) as ice-skating coach Kyle Frasier, and Matilda Freeman (How to get to heaven from Belfast, Passenger) as Sophie Madsen.

The Wakestead Police team also includes Gavin Spokes (House of the Dragon, Slow Horses) as DC Joel Stevens, Josh Bolt (Masters of the Air, Last Tango in Halifax) as DC Douglas James, and Ceallach Spellman (Cheaters, White Lines) as PC Callum Drummond.

The drama is written, developed for television and executive produced by Megan Gallagher (All Her Fault, Wolf), with Quay Street Productions, part of ITV Studios, producing.

The Blame’ premieres later this autumn on ITV and STV, and will be available to stream via ITVX and STV Player. If I want to keep track of this or any other shows, I can add them via our Never Miss system, and I’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
