‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Trailer Brings Ted Back To Richmond For The Lady Greyhounds

by Dave Elliott

Apple TV has unveiled the full trailer for the fourth season of Ted Lasso, bringing Jason Sudeikis (Saturday Night Live) back to Richmond in August for a brand-new coaching challenge.

This time around, Ted is taking charge of a second-division women’s football team, the Lady Greyhounds. It is a significant change of direction for the endlessly optimistic coach, who must build another team while navigating an entirely new side of the beautiful game.

The new season sees Ted and his players learning to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would. Judging by the trailer, the new squad brings plenty of personality, resistance and potential, so Ted may need every motivational speech and biscuit in his arsenal.

The fourth season of ‘Ted Lasso’ reunites Hannah Waddingham (Game of Thrones), Juno Temple (Fargo), Brett Goldstein (Shrinking), Brendan Hunt (Key and Peele) and Jeremy Swift (Downton Abbey), meaning Rebecca, Keeley, Roy, Coach Beard and Higgins are all returning alongside Ted.

Joining the Richmond ranks are Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education), Jude Mack (Such Brave Girls), Faye Marsay (Andor), Rex Hayes (The Pact), Aisling Sharkey (Jurassic World Dominion), Abbie Hern (My Lady Jane) and Grant Feely (Obi-Wan Kenobi).

The new season consists of 10 episodes, beginning with a single instalment before settling into a weekly release schedule. It marks the show’s return after the third season brought several major character arcs to what appeared to be natural conclusions, including Ted leaving Richmond and heading home to Kansas.

Behind the scenes, Jason Sudeikis executive produces alongside Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee and Bill Wrubel. Jack Burditt joins the fourth season as an executive producer, while Brett Goldstein continues as a writer and executive producer alongside Leann Bowen.

Sarah Walker and Phoebe Walsh serve as writers and producers, with Bill Lawrence executive producing through Doozer Productions. The series is produced in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television and is based on the characters originally created for NBC Sports.

Since its debut, ‘Ted Lasso’ has become one of Apple TV’s biggest success stories. Its first season became the most Emmy-nominated debut comedy series, while its first two seasons both won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. The first three seasons are currently available to stream on Apple TV.

Ted Lasso Season 4 premieres Wednesday, 5th August 2026 on Apple TV, with new episodes every Wednesday through Wednesday, 7th October 2026.
