Dexter Morgan is sharpening the knives again, as ‘Dexter: Resurrection‘ will return for Season 2 on Paramount+ this October, arriving just in time for Halloween. Paramount+ has announced the premiere alongside the first official teaser for the new season, which lands as the franchise celebrates 20 years since Dexter first began living by The Code.
Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under) is back as Dexter Morgan, and Season 2 looks set to keep him extremely busy. The new episodes find Dexter caught between two killers, one with decades of notoriety and a lifetime of kills behind him, and another fresh young face terrorising New York in ways no one has seen before.
As if that were not enough to occupy his evenings, Dexter is also facing a rather different threat: a mid-life crisis. Meanwhile, Harrison, played by Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird), continues his own pursuit of justice as father and son head into what Paramount+ describes as their darkest chapter yet.
Returning alongside Hall and Alcott are Uma Thurman (Kill Bill), Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (The Chi), Kadia Saraf (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Dominic Fumusa (Nurse Jackie), Desmond Harrington (Elementary) and James Remar (Black Lightning).
Season 2 also adds a pretty formidable collection of new regulars. Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey), Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo), Nona Parker Johnson (Mayor of Kingstown) and Brian Cox (Succession) all join the main cast. Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) returns in a guest-starring role, while Gabriel Luna (The Last of Us) joins as a guest star.
The series comes from Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios, with Clyde Phillips returning as showrunner and executive producer. Hall also executive produces alongside Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean and Katrina Mathewson.
‘Dexter: Resurrection‘ Season 2 premieres Friday, 30th October 2026 on Paramount+.
