Prime Video has given fans their first proper look at ‘Boys of Tommen‘, the upcoming romantic drama based on Chloe Walsh’s hugely popular bestselling book series, as production continues on the adaptation.
The newly released images put Nancy Surridge as Shannon Lynch and Conor Sánchez as Johnny Kavanagh front and centre, giving the BookTok crowd their first official glimpse of the pair bringing Walsh’s characters to life. The images were unveiled during Prime Video’s Obsessed Retreat: Class of ’26, a two-day immersive event held in Germany.
‘Boys of Tommen’ follows Johnny Kavanagh, the star rugby player at the prestigious Tommen College in Ballylaggin, Ireland, who appears to be heading towards a professional career. However, he is secretly dealing with an injury which could bring those ambitions crashing down.
Shannon Lynch is the painfully shy new girl at the school, arriving with some rather serious problems of her own thanks to a troubled and violent home life. Despite coming from very different worlds, Johnny and Shannon develop a secret and increasingly intense connection, with the pair battling against the odds and ultimately finding a way to save each other.
Alongside Nancy Surridge and Conor Sánchez, the core cast includes James O’Donoghue as Joey Lynch, Sophie McGibbon as Aoife Molloy, Amelia May as Claire Biggs, John Hewson as Gerard Gibson, Indy Lewis as Lizzie Young, Alex Dunne as Hugh Biggs, Dixie Egerickx as Katie Wilmot and Jamie Schneider as Patrick Feely.
The wider ensemble also includes Daisy Jacob as Bella Wilkinson, Jonathan Heed as Cormac Ryan, Cathal Ó SÃocháin as Ronan McGarry, James Craven as Pierce O’Neill and Lewis Brophy as Podge. The parents whose decisions help shape the lives of the younger characters are played by Eoin Macken, RóisÃn Gallagher, Amy Huberman, Jonathan Forbes and Tristan Heanue, while Harvey Moloney and Cobhan O’Brien play Shannon’s younger brothers Ollie and Tadhg.
The first season of ‘Boys of Tommen’ adapts the opening two novels in Walsh’s bestselling series, Binding 13 and Keeping 13. Poppy Cogan has adapted the books for television and serves as executive producer alongside Walsh, with Brendan Canty directing.
The drama is produced by wiip in association with Amazon MGM Studios, with Metropolitan providing local production services. Temple Hill and Drama Republic are also amongst the companies behind the adaptation.
‘Boys of Tommen‘ will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
