All 5 Seasons Of ‘Bates Motel’ Coming To BBC iPlayer

The BBC has struck a deal with NBCUniversal Global Distribution which will see all five seasons of ‘Psycho’ prequel series Bates Motel stream onto iPlayer.

The critically acclaimed series, which aired in the U.S. between 2013 and 2017, is a contemporary prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s genre-defining film ‘Psycho’ and depicts the lives of Norman Bates (‘The Good Doctor’s Freddie Highmore) and his mother Norma (Vera Farmiga – next to be seen in Marvel’s ‘Hawkeye’ series). Across the five series, it takes a modern-day glimpse into Norman’s formative years and delves into the twisted relationship between Norman and his mother to reveal how he became one of the most infamous murderers of all time.

“Bates Motel is modern reinvention of the classic spine-tingler,” comments Sue Deeks, Head of BBC Programme Acquisitions. “Full of suspense, intrigue and unexpected twists, it will keep BBC viewers mesmerised until the very end.”

Alongside Highmore and Farmiga the drama also stars Nestor Carbonell (‘The Morning Show’, ‘Lost’), Max Thieriot (‘SEAL Team’), Olivia Cooke (‘Ready Player One’, upcoming GoT prequel ‘House of the Dragon’), Nicola Peltz (‘Transformers’ movies), and Kenny Johnson (‘SWAT’, ‘Sons of Anarchy’).

‘Bates Motel’ is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. Carlton Cuse (‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’, ‘Lost’) and Kerry Ehrin (‘The Morning Show’, ‘Friday Night Lights’) serve as executive producers for Carlton Cuse Productions and Kerry Ehrin Productions, respectively. Tucker Gates and Vera Farmiga also serve as executive producers on the series.

The BBC hasn’t announced a date yet, but all five seasons of ‘Bates Motel‘ will be made available on BBC iPlayer soon.
