Showtime Orders ‘Let the Right One In’ Vampire Series
Showtime has given a series order to ‘Let the Right One In‘, a drama inspired by the original hit Swedish novel and film of the same name.
The series centres on Mark and his daughter Eleanor whose lives were changed forever 10 years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive. With these emotionally charged and terrifying ingredients as a starting point, the series will upend genre expectations, turning a naturalistic lens on human frailty, strength and compassion.
Led by Oscar nominee Demián Bichir (‘A Better Life’, ‘Weeds’, ‘The Bridge’) as Mark and Madison Taylor Baez (‘Selena: The Series’) as Eleanor, the series also stars Tony winner Anika Noni Rose (‘Dreamgirls’, ‘Power’), Grace Gummer (‘Mr. Robot’), Kevin Carroll (‘Snowfall’), Ian Foreman (‘Merry Wish-Mas’) and Jacob Buster (‘Colony’).
Award-winning playwright, writer and producer Andrew Hinderaker (‘Away’, ‘Penny Dreadful’), who wrote the pilot, will serve as showrunner and executive produce along with Seith Mann (‘Homeland’, ‘#FreeRayShawn’, ‘Blindspotting’), who directed the pilot and will also direct additional episodes. The drama is produced by Tomorrow Studios (‘Cowboy Bebop’, ‘Snowpiercer’) with Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements also serving as executive producers. The 10-episode series will go into production in New York City in early 2022.
As ‘Let the Right One In‘ does not go into production until 2022, it obviously doesn’t yet have a premiere date. However, it will air on Showtime in the USA, and should air on Sky Atlantic in the UK under their overall deal. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get a UK premiere date.

I don’t think Sky have output deal with Showtime (ViacomCBS) after this year , It’s why shows like Man Who Fell to Earth, Ripley, Super Pumped, and American Gigolo will be on Paramount+ in the UK
Although this show might not be on Paramount+ as i don’t think ViacomCBS own it.
Humm… yes, that’s an interesting point, I’d forgotten about that. I’m not sure when the Showtime carriage deal ends…
However, Comcast has just partnered with ViacomCBS in some international markets with the SkyShowtime streaming service, so they are working closely together still. Could be there is some crossover with some shows. Could be all the Showtime stuff moves exclusive to Paramount+. We’ll have to wait and see.
