‘Love & Death’: ITVX Sets September UK Premiere Date For David E. Kelley Drama Starring Elizabeth Olsen
ITVX has set a September UK premiere date for ‘Love & Death‘, a drama from David E. Kelley (‘Big Little Lies’, ‘Big Sky’, ‘The Undoing’) with a cast led by Elizabeth Olsen, and directed by Lesli Linka Glatter (‘Homeland’).
The series tells the unbelievable true story of Candy Montgomery (Olsen), a 1980s Texas housewife accused of murder. Despite a loving family, a picture-perfect home, and an active presence at church, Candy is unable to shake her sense of suburban ennui. After an unexpectedly charged moment with fellow church member Allan Gore (Jesse Plemons), Candy finds just the risk-taking thrill that’s been missing from her life. Their ensuing, meticulously strategized affair unfolds mostly as planned – until their respective spouses, Pat (Patrick Fugit) and Betty (Lily Rabe), each discover their secret… and someone picks up an axe.
The series stars Elizabeth Olsen (‘WandaVision’) as Candy alongside Jesse Plemons (‘Black Mirror’, ‘Breaking Bad’), Lily Rabe (‘The Undoing’, ‘The First Lady’), Patrick Fugit (‘Treadstone’, ‘Outcast’), Elizabeth Marvel (‘Unbelievable’, ‘Homeland’), Tom Pelphrey (‘Ozark’, ‘Banshee’), Keir Gilchrist (‘Atypical’), and Krysten Ritter (‘Jessica Jones’).
‘Love & Death’ comes from legendary screenwriter David E Kelley, the man behind recent hits ‘Big Little Lies’, ‘Big Sky’, and ‘The Undoing’. He was also the creator of ‘Boston Legal’ and ‘Ally McBeal’, along with co-creator of ‘Goliath’ and ‘Doogie Howser, M.D.’. Kelley writes the series and exec produces through his David E Kelley Productions. Lesli Linka Glatter (‘Mad Men’, ‘Homeland’) directs the first four and final episodes, and also exec produces.
Other exec producers are Nicole Kidman and Per Saari via Blossom Films; Scott Brown and Megan Creydt through Texas Monthly; Matthew Tinker; Michael Klick and Helen Verno.
