The world of ‘Black Mirror‘ will soon be available in comic form as our friends over at Neil Gibson’s Twisted Comics have signed a deal with Banijay Rights to produce books based on Charlie Brooker’s dystopian anthology series… and it seems like a perfect match!
“It has long been a dream of mine to extend Black Mirror – one of my ‘hero brands’ – into comic book form,” said Neil Gibson, founder and CEO of Twisted Comics. “Now that dream is a reality, and I believe fans of the show will love what we are planning. Watch this space.”
If you’re unaware of Twisted Comics, they have been a mainstay of Comic Cons for a number of years, and produce a wide array of comic books covering horror, comedy, sci-fi, and everything in between! Their best-selling flagship ‘Twisted Dark’ graphic novels, now on their 8th volume, tell stories of seemingly unconnected people from around the world and reveal the dark side of their characters in shocking stories with twist endings. Many of those stories are already somewhat Black Mirror-esque, so teaming up with Banijay to produce “immersive comic books comprising iconic Black Mirror storylines,” seems like an excellent fit.
“This unique partnership with Banijay Rights reflects Twisted Comics’ ambitions to be the go-to partner for creating and expanding IP and further builds on our work to date,” adds Kenny Diack, co-owner and Director of Twisted Comics.
‘Black Mirror’ is due to return for Season 7 on Netflix next year, with more stories that tap into our collective unease with the modern world. The stellar cast for this season includes Awkwafina (Jackpot!), Milanka Brooks (Mum And I Don’t Talk Anymore), Peter Capaldi (Criminal Record, Doctor Who), Emma Corrin (The Crown, Deadpool & Wolverine), Patsy Ferran (Firebrand), Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers, Billions), Lewis Gribben (Blade Runner 2099), Osy Ikhile (Citadel), Rashida Jones (Sunny), Siena Kelly (Domino Day), Billy Magnussen (Road House, No Time to Die), Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean), Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids, Moone Boy, The Big Door Prize), Issa Rae (Barbie), Paul G. Raymond (Horrible Histories), Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish), Jimmi Simpson (Westworld), and Harriet Walter (Succession).
Whilst we don’t yet have specifics about the plotlines of the new series, they did previously reveal that the show will have its first sequel episode – a follow-up to Season 4’s critically acclaimed USS Callister.
‘Black Mirror‘ Season 7 will premiere in 2025 on Netflix worldwide. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
