Geektown Awards – British TV Show of the Year 2025

by Dave Elliott

Time once again to wave the flags as we arrive at British TV Show of the Year in the Geektown Awards 2025.

This is always one of the most fascinating categories, as it throws drama, comedy, factual entertainment, and one-off event television into the same arena, shows that would rarely be compared directly anywhere else. As ever, the results offer a brilliant snapshot of what genuinely resonated with viewers over the past year.

Here’s how you voted.

British TV Show of the Year

Nominees:
Adolescence, Limited Series – Netflix
All Creatures Great and Small, Season 6 – Channel 5
Blue Lights, Season 3 – BBC
Celebrity Traitors, Season 1 – BBC
Clarkson’s Farm, Season 4 – Prime Video
Gavin & Stacey: The Finale – BBC
Riot Women, Season 1 – BBC
Slow Horses, Season 5 – Apple TV
The Gold, Season 2 – BBC
The Traitors, Season 3 – BBC

Bronze: Clarkson’s Farm, Season 4 – Prime Video
Silver: Celebrity Traitors, Season 1 – BBC

Gold Winner: Adolescence, Limited Series – Netflix

After dominating the Best Limited Series category earlier in the awards, Adolescence goes on to take the biggest British honour of all, claiming British TV Show of the Year.

The Netflix drama clearly struck a powerful chord with Geektown readers, finishing well ahead of a crowded and varied field. Tackling difficult subject matter with sensitivity and honesty, Adolescence became one of those rare shows that transcended its genre, sparking conversation well beyond its initial broadcast and cementing itself as one of the most impactful British dramas of the year.

Close behind, the BBC’s Celebrity Traitors took silver, proving that event television still has enormous pulling power when the format lands just right. Meanwhile, Clarkson’s Farm once again made the podium, following last year’s overall win with a strong bronze finish for its fourth season.

The rest of the shortlist underlines just how strong British television has been this year, from long-running comfort favourites like All Creatures Great and Small, to major cultural moments such as Gavin & Stacey: The Finale, and returning critical hits including Slow Horses and Blue Lights.

In a category that always blends quality, popularity, and cultural impact, Adolescence emerging on top feels like a fitting reflection of the year in British television.

More results from the Geektown Awards 2025 are coming very soon, as we continue to reveal the TV shows, films, and games that made the biggest impression on Geektown readers over the past year.
