Joel Kinnaman might not be returning to ‘Altered Carbon’, but he’s sticking to sci-fi as he boards Ronald D. Moore upcoming space drama for Apple it has been announced, along with Sarah Jones and Michael Dorman.

The currently untitled drama comes from Ronald D. Moore, the man behind ‘Battlestar Galactica’ and ‘Outlander’, and takes place in a world where the global space race of the 60s had never ended. According to Deadline, who broke the news, Kinnaman is set to stars as Edward Baldwin, one of the top astronauts in NASA. Sarah Jones and Michael Dorman will play Gordo and Tracy Stevens, a high-profile, married couple working for NASA.

Kinnaman recently starred as the main “sleeve” of Takeshi Kovacs, the lead character in the Netflix series ‘Altered Carbon’. Sarah Jones recently starred in the short-lived USA Network/Netflix series ‘Damnation’, and Hulu series ‘The Path’ with Aaron Paul. Previously she’s also starred as Polly on the brilliant ‘Sons of Anarchy’, and played Brynn in ‘Big Love’.

At the moment, not a lot is really known about the rollout of Apple’s new tv streaming service, but they have been gathering up various high-end tv content read for the launch. Gordon; A comedy from Kristen Wiig; And a psychological thriller from M. Night Shyamalan. It’s still not entirely clear how Apple are going to be releasing this new content.
