Sam Esmail To End ‘Mr. Robot’ With Season 4

The upcoming 4th Season of the award-winning and critically acclaimed Mr. Robot will be its last it has been announced.

The Golden Globe award-winning series follows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), a cyber-security engineer who became involved in the underground hacker group fsociety after being recruited by their mysterious leader (Christian Slater). Following the events of fsociety’s five/nine hack on the multi-national company Evil Corp, the series continues to explore the consequences of the attack as well as the illusion of control.

The show also stars Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallström, Grace Gummer, Michael Cristofer, Bobby Cannavale and BD Wong. Creator Sam Esmail exec produces along with Steve Golin and Chad Hamilton. Kyle Bradstreet and Joseph E. Iberti serve as co-executive producers.

There has been a bit of an extended gap between the airing of Season 3, and production on the new season which starts in New York at some point this winter. That means Season 4 is expected to air in 2019.

“Since day one, I’ve been building toward one conclusion – and in breaking the next season of Mr. Robot, I have decided that conclusion is finally here,” commented creator Sam Esmail in a statement to THR. “Everyone on the creative team, including the amazing people at USA and UCP, didn’t want to say goodbye, but we ultimately have too much respect for Elliot’s journey to extend past its inevitable ending. Therefore, season four will serve as the final chapter of the Mr. Robot story. To fans of the show: thank you for the past three years, and I can’t wait to share this exciting final season with you.”

Mr. Robot‘ premieres On Amazon Prime in the UK with a second airing on broadcast tv on Universal Channel UK.
