UK and global pop superstar Robbie Williams is going to be the subject of a new docuseries for Netflix the streaming service has announced.

The multi-part series which will launch in 2023 will be an unfiltered, in-depth examination of a global icon and natural-born-entertainer who had to navigate the highs and lows of being in the limelight for more than 30 years. It will cover Robbie navigating media scrutiny throughout his career, adulation and addiction, professional and personal break-ups, reunions, recovery, and their impact on his mental health.

Featuring 25 years’ worth of intimate, never-before-seen archive, and exclusive access to Robbie; this definitive series is a no-holds-barred look at the entertainer and will reveal a more nuanced and multifaceted character.

As I’m sure many fans will know, Rob has been through a lot of ups and downs over his career, but finally seems to be in a stable and happy place, so this docuseries should serve as an interesting look through his life. He joined Take That in 1990 at the age of sixteen, before quitting the band in 1995. He went on to have an extremely successful solo career, with the song “Angels” being his best-selling single, and being voted the best song of the previous 25 years at the 2005 Brit Awards. In 2006 he rejoined Take That for the album “Progress”, although was not involved in their later albums.

The docuseries will be directed by Joe Pearlman (Bros: After the Screaming Stops) and produced by RSA in conjunction with RPW Productions and ie:music. Asif Kapadia (Amy, Diego Maradona, Senna) & Dominic Crossley-Holland (The Love of Money, All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace) serve as exec producers.

The untitled Robbie Williams documentary series is in production right now. We’ll let you know when we have a release date.
