GoT’s Rory McCann Takes Over Role Of Baylan Skoll In ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2

by Dave Elliott

According to reports, ‘Game Of Thrones’ actor Rory McCann will take the role of Baylan Skoll in ‘Ahsoka Season 2, replacing Ray Stevenson who sadly passed away in 2023.

Set after the fall of the Empire, ‘Ahsoka’ follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano, played by Rosario Dawson, as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

Baylan Skoll was a former Jedi Knight and Jedi General who allied himself to Morgan Elsbeth, the former Magistrate of Calodan, after the fall of the Jedi and the Empire. Whilst he may wield a lightsaber, he is now neither Jedi nor Sith, in search of power who believes that another war is inevitable. The character was wonderfully played by Ray Stevenson in season one, but he unexpectedly passed away in August 2023.

Rory McCann is probably best known for his role as Sandor “The Hound” Clegane in ‘Game Of Thrones’, and seems like a really good fit for the role. Outside of his GoT role, McCann has also appeared in ‘Hot Fuzz’, ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’, ‘Knuckles’, ‘The Jury’, and ‘Transformers: EarthSpark’ (as the voice of Megatron).

Nothing is really known about the plot or cast of ‘Ahsoka’ season two yet, although it will likely see the return of Eman Esfandi (Ezra Bridger), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine Wren), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Hera Syndulla), Lars Mikkelsen (Grand Admiral Thrawn) and more of the season one cast.

Season one was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist is the co-executive producer.

Ahsoka‘ Season 2 does not yet have a premiere date but likely won’t arrive until at least 2026 on Disney+. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get a UK premiere date.
