Sky has unveiled the first look teaser and images for its upcoming series ‘Atomic’, an exhilarating action-adventure that launches this August on Sky and streaming service NOW.
Starring Alfie Allen (SAS: Rogue Heroes, Game of Thrones), Shazad Latif (Star Trek: Discovery, What’s Love Got To Do With It) and Samira Wiley (The Handmaid’s Tale, Orange is the New Black), the series throws two unlikely characters into the unexpected journey of a lifetime.
When the path of free-spirited drug smuggler Max (Allen) collides with JJ (Latif), an enigmatic outsider on the run, an unlikely friendship is formed. They are swept into a chaotic, high-stakes mission they never signed up for – trafficking highly enriched uranium across North Africa and the Middle East, with the CIA, MI6, and a global web of opposing forces closing in fast.
Leading the charge for the CIA is highly skilled scientist and Non-Official Cover (NOC) officer, Cassie Elliott (Wiley). Convinced Max and JJ are in league with violent extremists, her relentless pursuit puts them all on a collision course, revealing that nothing is what it seems and everyone has an ulterior motive. What starts as a bid for survival becomes a reluctant partnership, a shot at redemption, and one hell of a ride.
The cast also includes Brian Gleeson (Bad Sisters), Franklin Virguez (Jack Ryan), Avita Lvova (Jackdaw), Stuart Martin (Miss Scarlet and the Duke), Vahid Gold (The Peripheral), and Charlie Murphy (Peaky Blinders).
Created by Gregory Burke and inspired by the non-fiction book The Atomic Bazaar by Vanity Fair journalist William Langewiesche, the series is produced by Pulse Films, a VICE Studios company, in association with Sky Studios. Executive Producers are Jamie Hall, Ian Stratford, Michael Bloom, Thomas Benski, Sam Hoyle, Megan Spanjian, Judy Counihan, and Gregory Burke. It is written by Gregory Burke, Clare McQuillan, Ishy Din and J.W. Lee, produced by Peter McAleese, and directed by Shariff Korver.
‘Atomic’ premieres Thursday, 28th August 2025 on Sky and streaming service NOW.

The trailer’s been showing on Sky channels for months in the UK. Nice to see it’s actually got a start date now though.
