Filming has begun on the fourth series of ‘Here We Go’, with the BAFTA-winning sitcom set to return to BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
Created by and starring Tom Basden (The Ballad of Wallis Island), the new 6×30-minute series brings back the brilliantly chaotic Jessop family for more awkward disasters, questionable decisions, and lovingly captured domestic carnage.
The returning ensemble cast includes Jim Howick (Ghosts), Katherine Parkinson (Rivals), Alison Steadman (Gavin & Stacey), Freya Parks (This Town), Jude Morgan-Collie (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder), Tori Allen-Martin (Unforgotten), Mica Ricketts (Best Interests), Ed Kear (The Batman) and Jon Furlong (The Last Kingdom).
Series four of ‘Here We Go’ once again throws the Jessops into a glorious mess of love, loss, jealousy, a graduation, a birthday party, a surprise snail allergy, and an eventful “fun run”.
Rachel, played by Katherine Parkinson, is graduating and taking her first, slightly wobbly steps into political protest. Paul, played by Jim Howick, continues struggling on as an undervalued policeman, while also trying his hand at some messy painting and decorating. Robin, played by Tom Basden, is still pursuing his entrepreneurial dreams, this time with plans to impress Dragons’ Den, alongside buying a property he knows very little about, which sounds entirely sensible and not at all like a terrible idea.
Elsewhere, Cherry, played by Tori Allen-Martin, is doing her best to juggle raising baby Atlas while practising her newfound make-up artist skills. Amy, played by Freya Parks, is looking for a fresh start, a job, and some form of escape from the rest of her family, while Sue, played by Alison Steadman, is having trouble sleeping but still finds time to make a lethal home-brew. As ever, Sam, played by Jude Morgan-Collie, is there to capture the various disasters in uncomfortable close-up.
“Working with such an incredible comedy cast is a pleasure and a privilege so I’m thrilled to be bringing Here We Go back to the BBC for a fourth time. We’ve only just started shooting but it’s already shaping up to be the best series yet!” said creator Tom Basden.
All previous episodes of ‘Here We Go’ are available to watch now on BBC iPlayer, with further information about the new series due to be released in due course.
‘Here We Go’ Series 4 does not yet have a UK premiere date, but will air on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
