Geektown Talks To Cinematographer & Director Boris Mojsovski, About Netflix’s ‘I Will Find You’, ‘Titans’, ‘12 Monkeys’ & More

Boris Mojsovski Interview

by Dave Elliott

In the latest episode of Geektown Talks To, I’m chatting with cinematographer, director and filmmaker Boris Mojsovski, whose work includes Netflix’s new Harlan Coben thriller I Will Find You, along with Rabbit Hole, ‘12 Monkeys’, Titans, The Lost Symbol, ‘The Madness’ and more.

Based on Coben’s bestselling novel, ‘I Will Find You’ follows David Burroughs, a father serving a life sentence for the murder of his young son, only to discover evidence suggesting the child may still be alive. It is exactly the sort of twisty, emotionally loaded thriller Coben does so well, but bringing that kind of story to screen means creating a world that feels grounded, tense, and just slightly off-balance.

That is where Boris comes in.

During the interview, we talk about his unusual route into the industry, from growing up around film sets thanks to his cinematographer father, to initially trying not to become a filmmaker himself. Instead, he found his way through photography, writing and directing, before being pulled back behind the camera and building a career that allows him to move between cinematography and directing across film and television.

We also dig into the visual language of I Will Find You, including the challenge of making prison sequences feel authentic while still carrying the drama of a thriller, how the team approached the show’s shifting sense of tension, and why sometimes the most powerful cinematic landscape is not a huge set or sweeping location, but an actor’s face.

From there, the conversation moves into some of Boris’s other genre work, including the paranoia of ‘Rabbit Hole’, the time-twisting brilliance of ‘12 Monkeys’, and, of course, the DC world of ‘Titans’. As you might expect, we could not let him escape without talking about superheroes, comic book storytelling, and what made that show such a creatively exciting playground.

Boris also teases some of his upcoming work, including his own film Foreign Tongue, recent projects such as ‘Into the Deep Blue’ and ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’, and reveals the classic films he wishes he could hop in a time machine and make himself.
