Couple of Notes on Commenting…

TIPS FOR POSTING It is always extremely helpful when people post dates, times and information below. It is useful in keeping the list as current as possible and makes for a great community spirit. But when posting, please remember the following:

1) Use full programme titles. As instantly recognisable as abbreviations may be to someone who watches that show, to someone who doesn’t, it is just a meaningless collection of letters that have to be looked up.

2) If a bit of information is a rumour, please say so – we can list it as such, pending confirmation

3) If something comes from a reputable source, please quote that source, so we all know it is not just a rumour.

Thank you.

Found the following comment over on Sky Community:

‘I have just been on the phone to Sky about this episode and they have told me that at no point will Sky be airing episode 14 due to the content of the episode. Sky said that it is the makers of the programme that revoked the licence for this particular episode so Sky cannot show it even if they wanted to. Apparently there is a synopsis at the beginning of episode 15 which should explain things!!’

Masterchef Australia series 9 will most likely be late in the summer as it has been previous years. It hasn’t begun in Australia yet. It’s on W.

The Great British Bake-off (in name, anyway) will probably be back in the summer, although the usual timetable may change with the move to Channel 4 for series 8.

Merciless Season 1 – Channel 4/Walter Presents July.

I’ve also seen an ad on Sky for Micky Flanagan: Thinking Aloud Season 1 – Sky 1 April 14th at 9pm.

Could you add Marvel’s Runaways and Castle Rock to the list. The former is, as the title suggests, yet another Marvel series, and the latter is the latest collaboration between Stephen King and J J Abrams.

And finally, while I remember, is there any news about second seasons of Witnesses and Jordskott? They were on Channel 4 and ITV Encore, respectively, about a year ago.

I understand Chicago Justice seasonn1 has started. What I have noticed is that the first episode is difficult to follow. The best way to understand the first episode is to watch one of the episodes in Chicago Fire the current season which is airing in US. After this you watch Chicago P.D and then the first episode of Chicago Justice. All these 3 shows have to seen in that order in order to follow the events. Its an advice for those who have not understood the episode of Chicago Justice. Only applies to first episode only. Hope it helps to everyone.

Hi Paul. Yes, that’s interesting although not entirely surprising that they want to diverge. I’ve seen the first Swedish series but not the second (because as far as I am aware neither has been released in English, but the first was at least released in German).

Have you or anyone else seen the original – thoughts on how the British one compares?

        • DaveB says:

I think both versions are very good but also very different. Had problems with the UK/US version originally because I thought the Swedish version started so much stronger and because of certain character amalgamations they’d made (primarily Niska & Flash). But I quickly grew to like the new version as its own thing. Although so different its hard to compare – series 2 of Humans might even have been slightly better than series 2 of Real Humans. Series 2 of the Swedish version seemed to set up a lot of story strands for possible future series which never happened. Still loved some of the characters in Real Humans that never made it into the UK version though.

I think the past couple of years, Sky Living premiered the latest season of Chicago Fire in a 9 pm timeslot. With Shades of Blue season 2 starting on a Monday night (13th March) at 9 pm, it seems to me like it will be either a Thursday or Friday night when Chicago Fire: Season 5 will air.

With Shades of Blue season 2 being on at 9 pm, I’m guessing Criminal Minds season 12b will be on at 10 pm on Monday nights. Currently, Elementary (Season 5) is on Tuesday nights at 9 pm, Grey’s Anatomy (Season 13) on Wednesday nights at 9 pm, Blindspot (Season 2) on Thursday nights at 9 pm, and Bones (Season 12) on Friday nights at 9 pm.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Depends on the show… If it’s an Amazon Original like Sneaky Pete or Man In The High Castle, it’s very very unlikely, as they want you to buy Amazon Prime for those.

If they are shows they ‘buy in’ though, like Mr. Robot, Black Sails, or Outlander, they do sometimes land on normal TV, as Nick mentioned.

  119. Slightly surprised there’s no love on here – even in the A-Z – for Inside No. 9 which is back on BBC2 on Tuesday night. Strictly speaking I think this counts as a continuation of series 3 as the previous Christmas special was Episode 1 of the new series.

Looking at some of the Walter Presents stuff in the unknowns section:

Acquitted was made available on All4 from 13 January.
Bellicher Cel was made available on All4 from 14 October last year under the title Framed.
Elite Squad was made available on All4 from 3 February.
Penoza has been renamed Black Widow & is coming to Walter Presents sometime in the summer.
The Pack was renamed The Border and was made available on Walter Presents from 21 June last year. Ep. 1 only aired on Channel 4.
The Team started on More4 last Friday – 17 February.

    • Sky Atlantic like all/most of the other HBO stuff. March according to their website.

No mention of Midnight Sun or Public Enemy on there yet though – both of which I’m much more interested in. Might just be because they don’t plan on publicising their subtitled imports as much as they do their regular HBO/Showtime stuff though.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Sadly no… Not a peep… I suspect Netflix will be the most likely place to pick it up, as they have the first 2 seasons, so the 3rd will hopefully land there at some point. It’s always annoying when a channel drops a show like that, as it usually makes other networks reluctant to pick it up. Sky Living would be the other obvious place for it, but I would have thought we’d have heard something by now if they were going to take it.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yes, that seems to be the US air date. If it does what it did last year, that *should* mean it’ll be on Amazon Instant the day after. Note – Amazon Instant, NOT Amazon Prime, which means you’ll have to buy the season, as it’s not part of the Prime subscription. That’s also assuming no one else picks it up before then, but it seems unlikely (unless Netflix fancy it.)

Is This Is Us taking a short break on Channel 4 after next Tuesday night’s new episode (episode 11)? My planner has picked up next Tuesday night’s new episode (the first new episode shown in the US in January), but also says ‘Next Episode’. Which suggests to me that either the show will be off for a week, or it’s taking a short break.

Also, have started making guesses as to when Chicago Fire season 5 will start on Sky Living, even though it’s more than likely it will be sometime in June again. Hopefully Sky Living and 5USA don’t schedule Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. against one another again, like they did last year.

No, I’m trying to find that out at the moment. It wasn’t on Netflix’s Feb list BUT they have been known to have shows randomly pop up which aren’t on the list. It could be that they have to wait for the broadcast to finish in the US to air it though…

It seems possible that they will place the whole season 2 on Netflix after it’s all finished airing in the US.
