Couple of Notes on Commenting…

TIPS FOR POSTING It is always extremely helpful when people post dates, times and information below. It is useful in keeping the list as current as possible and makes for a great community spirit. But when posting, please remember the following:

1) Use full programme titles. As instantly recognisable as abbreviations may be to someone who watches that show, to someone who doesn’t, it is just a meaningless collection of letters that have to be looked up.

2) If a bit of information is a rumour, please say so – we can list it as such, pending confirmation

3) If something comes from a reputable source, please quote that source, so we all know it is not just a rumour.

Thank you.

Will it appear on any other UK broadcaster? I read rumors that Universal were interested.

      0
      • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Unlikely at this point. I think they were interested in picking it up, but Netflix nabbed it instead. It’s not impossible for it to come onto broadcast TV at some point in the future, but Netflix likely have an exclusive contract of *at least* 12 months, so not anytime soon!

        0
        • big_smile says:

Aahh! I hate it when shows move on to Netflix. The same happened with Drop Dead Diva and it never came back to TV. I know I should get a Netflix subscription, but it’s hard to justify when I am already paying for Sky.

          1+
          • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yes, it’s annoying if you’re running on a tight budget. As I just mentioned below though, Netflix doesn’t force you into a 12 month subscription, so you could wait until the season ends, then pay for 1 month, binge watch it, and turn it off again. I know that means you don’t see it as it goes out, but at least you get to see it. 🙂

No, already do full subscription to Sky so can’t afford any extra for Netflix too.

          • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

One thing you could look at Marge, is ditching Sky for NOW TV (which is basically Sky On Demand), as it’s a lot cheaper. Depends how you feel about going down the ‘cord-cutting’ route. It also doesn’t really work if you watch a lot of sports, but it’s a useful cheaper alternative if you’re just using Sky for the entertainment channels. 🙂

            1+
            • Marg Barnett says:

Thanks for that Dave. Husband watches a lot of sport (and I watch some) so no chance of ditching it. Have got an Amazon Firestick for watching old movies, maybe the Suits latest series will turn up on that at some time.

              0
              • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Ah yes. I thought that might be the case. The other option is to wait for the whole of the season of Suits to finish airing, and then pay to get Netflix for a month, and binge through it. As there’s no subscription, you can pay for a single month, then turn it off again. 🙂

                0
            • Sarah says:

I’ve been thinking about doing this, but with NOW wouldn’t I lose the ability to record stuff? So, I’d have to shell out for say a Freeview recorder on top, right? Happy to be corrected!

              0
              • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yes, you can’t record stuff, but the idea of NOW TV is that everything that is on the Sky On Demand system is available there, so you don’t really need to record things. You just stream them after they air. It’s only really an issue if you tend to stockpile shows to binge watch on the Sky Box, as they don’t stay on NOW TV/Sky On Demand forever. That’s the main reason I stick with the Sky Box. Due to the nature of this job, I have to get through a LOT of tv, so I’ll sometimes not get back to a show for 6 months, by which time, they’ll be off the On Demand system.

The big plus for NOW TV is the price. The downside is that you lose some flexibility… and NOW TV is no good if you have Sky for sport. It’s a case of finding what works for you. 🙂

Probably a long shot but any news of season 3 of NCIS: New Orleans?

Channel 5 seem to be getting worse and worse for showing programmes they have bought from US. Take Chicago PD, seems to start later and later every year and as for Gotham, think I’ll be giving up on it and wait for it to be added to Netflix…

    0
    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

NCIS: New Orleans should be airing in the Autumn according the Channel 5. Gotham is an interesting one, as they are now saying they ‘hope’ to be airing it in the Autumn. There are apparently some ‘issues’ going on behind the scenes which is stopping them from airing it, as they obviously want to put it out as much as fans do, not have it sat on a shelf, which is no good to anyone. It’s frustrating for them and for us as fans. Hopefully they manage to sort it out!

*sigh* ridiculous… Okay, that’s moved. At least RT actually got a reply. I may alter it to show the DVD/Blu-ray release date in due course, as technically it will premiere in the UK on disc… Assuming C5’s messing with the schedule doesn’t force the disc release back, which has happened to shows before… Let me double check with Amazon.

    • Shaun says:

I really don’t understand why a channel (presumably) pays a significant amount for a popular show and then keeps putting it back and back until people lose interest or give up and watch it elsewhere. Where’s the logic in that? I can’t believe they think it would get less viewers that some of their shows and surely if they’ve paid for it anyway they would want to get some return? Am I missing something?

      0
      • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

As I just mentioned above, there are apparently some ‘issues’ going on behind the scenes which is stopping them from airing it… They seem as frustrated as we are, as they know they are losing viewers over it, and it makes them look bad.

Naked & Affraid XL is showing as S02 (complete with 2 E01’s!?), but during the preview show, they refer to it as XL3 (the first bring in Columbia and the second being in South Africa, if I recall). Additionally they do it with Street Outlaws, they just aired “season” 04 here, but that was the same as season 09 in the US. Just posted this on the Ransom page, but yes, it would appear Universal are showing them in an entirely random order…

      3 July – The Artist. Series 1, episode 10.
      10 July – Celina. Series 1, episode 6.
      17 July – Joe. Series 1, episode 4.

I have no idea *why* they are doing it, but it looks like the will all be shown, just not in order.

Sometimes they move episodes due to the content being sensitive news events, but I don’t think that’s the case here. It’s a little odd!

        UPDATE from Universal –

“We’re airing the series in the original production order whilst CBS in the US moved some episodes around. It has also come to our attention that the TiVO listings for the eps are incorrect which we have flagged to Virgin – so if any of the people commenting are using TiVO that might explain the confusion.”

So basically Universal are airing it in the order it was intended, not the order the US ran it in!

Thanks for confirming the late schedule change Dave. If both Sky Living and 5USA show one new episode per week, then they’ll finish on the same week (Chicago Fire season 5 consists of 22 episodes, and Chicago P.D. season 4 consists of 23 episodes). It’s not a problem, but if the start date had been July 4th, then both parts of the two-part crossover between Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. from early January (in the US) would have aired on the same week.

          0
          • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yep, I understand it can be a lot for some people on top of Sky. One option, if you’re prepared to cut the cord, is NOW TV, Netflix, and Amazon Prime, which together costs about the same as the Basic Sky Entertainment package. The only problem with that, is the sport. Not so good if you have Sky for the football, but it’s a great option of entertainment.

Can anybody explain to me why, when I went to Orphan Black, season 5, the first episode was not available, but it said episode 2 would be available on June 18th. I am of course talking about Netflix. OK, fair enough, I have Belgium Netflix as I live over here, for my sins, but I still feel there is a con going on somewhere. You stated that Orphan Black season 5 would be available on June 11th, and it’s not.

            Yep:

            Season 9 – E4 – 6th January 2015 at 10pm
            Season 10 – E4 – 14th October 2015 at 10pm
            Season 11 – E4 – 20th April 2016 at 10pm
            Season 12 – E4 – 4th January 2017 at 10pm

So it’s been all over the place because we were so far behind, but we caught up with season 12. So I’m guessing around Jan will be the standard timeslot, as that’s what they did this year. I think they’ll want to delay it a bit so they can take the gaps out of it. 🙂

Just thought you should update your information as some of it is wrong.

For those who get the BT Sports channels on Sky (only £7.50 per month if you have BT broadband and there are lots of half price offers always available), the AMC channel is included.

Also, if you have the BT HD pack (£5 extra, although they usually have offers available again if you ask), the AMC channel is included in HD on channel 192 on Sky.

That would be embarrassing for Channel 5 if Netflix manage to air it before them… I suspect there maybe something in the deal to say 5 have the rights to air it first though. If that is the case, it may bump the DVD release too.

Shows which end up on Netflix take a bit of time. It will be in the best of your interest to watch it on ABC website, the official US channel. That can save time for you. The show has been renewed for the 4th season. Shonda Rhimes show coming up: Still Star Crossed, For the People. • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Finished. Only 12 episodes with that 12hr time jump at the end (making it 24). May get renewed. May not… Hard to say at the moment.

      • John Henderson says:

Thanks Dave for your info. Are you saying that there is an option on whether to shoot the remaining 12 hours realtime episodes. You imply it is in the balance. The series should have been called 24:To Be or Not To Be. Ok it is a replica of previous 24 formats, but it has been produced or directed by Mr 24 himself, Keizer Sutherland and I have enjoyed it, so far, especially seeing my several old faces.

What with season breaks etc., the American networks sure know how to bamboozle their audiences.

        • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

No, it was billed as an ‘event series’ and they are usually shorter runs, so it was always planned as 12 episodes. They did the same with 24:Live Another Day.

As to what they do next (or if they continue it) is anyones guess at the moment. Fox seem to like the idea of having a 24 series, but this didn’t quite draw the numbers they were hoping for, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Hoping Canadian series Bellevue gets renewed for a second season, and that a UK channel acquires it. Did fellow Canadian series Heartland finish after the tenth season ended recently in Canada?

I think Cardinal has been renewed for a second season.

Hi, great website, my ‘go to’ place for all UK TV airdates. Minor point, but you’ve listed a few returning series on ‘Sony Entertainment Television, but it changed to ‘Sony Channel’ quite a long time ago. Also, if you have any contacts there could you find out if they have any plans to add an HD channel on Sky and Virgin?

The third series of Hinterland starts on BBC Four next Saturday night (6th May) at 9 pm (source: Sky TV listings menu).

Also, the third (and it appears the final) season of Cold Justice resumes on Really next Thursday night (Thursday 4th May) at 10 pm (source: Sky TV listings menu).

I can’t remember which channel it was on, but the short-lived Cold Justice spin-off was shown on a UK TV channel a few weeks ago (it was shown in the early hours of the morning, so it could have been a repeat run).

Ridiculous stuff from Channel 5. They way they have handled the 3rd season of Gotham has been bizarre. Hopefully if the show gets a 4th season Netflix will buy it exclusive.

  197. What has happened to Chicago Fire and Chicago PD?!

    0
    • Richard O says:

Further up this page (and also on the Geektown website page for Chicago P.D.) was updated recently, to show that Season 4 of Chicago P.D. is starting sometime in June on 5USA. If I remember right, season 3 started last year around the same time that the first half of last year’s new series of Mock the Week started on BBC Two (in June).

5USA’s repeat run of Chicago Fire season 2 finishes on Thursday 1st June, so my guess as to the start date of Chicago P.D. Season 4? Thursday 8th June.

      0
      • Richard O says:

As for Chicago Fire season 5? Blindspot season 2 replaced Chicago Fire season 4 on Sky Living in November last year.

Blindspot season 2, episode 19 is airing this coming Thursday (4th May) at 9 pm on Sky Living. It looks like there will be 22 episodes in total, so the season finale should air in the UK on Thursday 25th May.

Sky Living I hope though, don’t do what happened last year and schedule Chicago Fire against Chicago P.D on Sky Living. And vice-versa with 5USA, I hope they haven’t decided to schedule Chicago P.D. against Chicago Fire on Sky Living this year.
